Zippity-doo-das with my LuLu

I would like to introduce everyone (formally) to my BFF, my Bonnie to my Clyde, my Hip to my Hop, my Maj. Buttons to my Sgt. Peaches....alright you get the idea.  Her name is Lucia Juliao and you can read about her well versed adventures here.  This is one of those friendships that have lasted since the highschool years and I can imagine the two of us growing old together, sitting on a porch in our rockers...rocking back and forth, reminiscing about the good old days.  I imagine our hubbies fit in there somewhere too.  The two of us have agreed to do a little "guest appearance" on eachother's blogs.  Without further ado here she is...
My LuLu

Hi there! Lulu here...we haven’t met yet, but I have been mentioned in previous posts & as I’m just starting my own bloggy, Ews and I have decided to do some guest posting for each other. In Ewa’s Sep 3 post she mentioned my little friend, Blueberry, who you’ll see here...I’ve been asked many times about my little yellow friend. The most frequently asked question is, “Why did you start doing this?” I could launch into a monologue about a social experiment studying the effects of personifying a piece of plastic to see if I can garner strong feelings from normal, mentally-healthy adults (well, pretty much normal) towards an inanimate object. In fact, that’s what my fiancee would like to hear (since it took him only 2 months to grow very weary of the whole thing). But the truth of the matter is that it’s fun, it gets my creative juices flowing and it gets me taking pictures. We bought our first home together on Jan 1st of this year, moved in mid-Feb and spent the next several months trying to figure out how to live together (we’d each lived alone for the past several years) & where to put stuff. I could go off on several tangents here, but my point is that my camera gear was stuffed into a closet and I didn’t even look in its direction for almost four months. This is really disappointing for me since I love taking pictures. I’m most inspired by travel and with the new house (and new mortgage), I knew it would be a while before I could travel anywhere interesting. There really wasn’t much else that felt important enough to pull out the camera for (Sled Island & Calgary Folk Music Festival were still months away at that point). Oh sure, I still kept my little point-&-shoot in my purse and even used it occasionally, but it’s not quite the same.
So, during a weekend visit to Oshawa in June (see Ewa’s June 20 post) I was able to catch up with my bestest bestie, Squirrelly Monkey aka Sgt Peaches (you know her as Ewa). Whenever we meet up (which is much less frequent than either of us would like, due to the 4-hour plane ride keeping us apart and the unjustifiably high cost of domestic air travel in Canada), we give each other little gifts. These often manifest themselves in the form of inside stories we share and/or pretty little things. And this reunion was no exception. I got her a necklace with a decorated Scrabble tile - unfortunately sporting an “F” on the back rather than an “E”, due to the cute design that was on the front. I considered etching a line on the bottom to turn the F into an E, but decided against it, figuring I’d get caught since everyone knows that an E in Scrabble is only worth 1 point, not the 4 points showing on this tile. Well, maybe not everyone, but wordy wordsmith Ewa would surely have smelled a rat.

But I digress...on that fateful day, my dear, darling Ewa gave me (among other fun things) something called an Ugly Doll. I didn’t know what it was, but I tore open the box and then the opaque silver liner inside the box like a kid at Christmas - or like an adult that hasn’t fully accepted adulthood, in June. And there he was: a nameless yellow monster, as adorable as he is compact. Which is to say, very. I really liked the little guy from the start and wanted to ensure I did something useful with him; I love Ewa’s gifts and didn’t want him becoming a dust collector. So I decided to take a picture of him in front of a wicked rainbow that appeared behind our house. The next day we had our first-ever garage sale in the pouring rain and when I got bored I decided to take a picture of Blueberry to amuse myself. And a new chapter of my life was born. Disclaimer: those first two photos are utter crap, since it was cold and wet outside. I forgot to turn on the macro setting, but wasn’t about to go back out for another shot. I figured these were only going on facebook for a laugh, so why bother?
Anyway, the only strict rule I set for myself once I realized this might go on for a while was that this is not a 365 project, meaning:
a)   If I feel particularly creative one day and I shoot several photos, I can ‘bank’ them to post on other days when I’m too busy or unmotivated to do it.
b)   If there are any days when I don’t post at all, that’s ok. I’m not cheating because

c)   there are no strict rules.
(yes, I realize that c is negating a & b. It’s a joke, don’t take anything too seriously. Seriously, don’t). I tried doing a 365 project in May 2010, but it just ended up being a source of stress and I rally didn’t want that to happen with Blueberry. So there you have it. That’s my long and drawn-out story of how Blueberry came to be in my life. Maybe next time I’ll tell you about how he got his name (but probably not, because it’s not a very interesting story. One of those “it’s funny if you are me or Ewa” kind of things)

So you're an adult...what to do now?

  • Morning wake up call - 6:00 am
  • Get ready, make sure I bring my music books with me and get in the car and go to piano teacher's house for 7:30...
  • Get there 5 mins late (dammit)
  • Get started on my Grade 9 pieces.  This is when they get picked to be played and start my journey into another year of playing and learning piano.
  • ....take one look at the pieces...aaaaaahhhh shit....
  • There's no bullshitting now.  Pieces are hard and my fingers will have to behave which means practice, practice, practice.
  • cry a little to myself.
This is it ladies and gents.  This is where I have to pull my socks up and really make this whole piano business work.  No more slacking or anything of such nature.  I do love playing, however, so this should not be too difficult for me.  For fun I have found sheets music for Adele's song "Someone like you" and some sheet music from the movie Amelie (2 things I ADORE!).  I am really not in the business of caring if I annoy my neighbourinos with my playing.  They have loud voices, cussing, and annoying tendencies....I have my piano to do that for me (I wish all neighbours were annoying as me).

Today I started my day at 6 am and only now, at 12:00 am am I close to finishing it.  This is pretty much my life in a nutshell.  HOWEVER, I got to see my friends Val and Bri (who is battling cancer) as well as Victoria and Kyle.  Bri is a strong woman and if anyone is going to beat cancer, it would be her.  She is one strong cookie and I absolutely admire her and how she holds herself up in this battle.  Val is pure awesomness and absolutely wonderful human being.  We got to chill at Coffee Culture and talk and laugh together, which was Uber fantastic.

We chilled with Kyle and Victoria afterwards and had an absolutely wonderful time together as per always.  Speaking of another wonderful couple, Matt and Aggie hung out with us on Friday.  We love these two as well and always enjoy our time together.

I <3 my friends and count myself a very lucky person to have these wonderful people around me.
Hope others can be as lucky as I am.

Here's to good times

Alright, so since I mentioned in my previous blog I guess it is only fitting to tell you (selected few who care to read this) how my brother-in-laws wedding went.

The newlyweds :) Rich & Michele
IT WAS FAB!  I honestly had a lot of fun :)  I don't know if it was the lack of sleep or the Monster filled shots but I was a ball of energy....OR energizer bunny as people called me.  It could also be the fact that when you are the bride, you don't get to enjoy the whole party aspect as much as when you are just the bridesmaid :)  I got to dance, drink, take pics and such with everyone...something I felt like I did not do enough of when I was the bride because everyone fights for the attention of the bride.

The bride and us <3

Groom and I

The ceremony was wonderful, the party bus was awesome, the hall (Mississauga Convention Centre) was beautiful inside and out and the dancing and booze plentiful.

The awesome part of the reception was a photo booth.  I believe EVERYONE had fun with that and koodos to the bride for thinking of it :) I wish the new couple nothing but happiness in their future together.
In my last blog I wrote how I love and adore my hubby...it could also be due to the fact that he spoils me like crazy.  Before the wedding, we went out and he bought me (or us as I would like to think) an SLR camera.

Self shot...a must :)
I finally get to enjoy this little toy and see why in fact it is a wonderful camera.
I also decided to honour one of my very best friends with a little photo story of two little characters bestowed upon me by her.  Now to understand all this random stuff I guess I should say that my dear friend made a little photo story of a little character (Blueberry) that was given to her by me.  She is a wonderful photographer and a very funny gal to boot....which makes the photo story totes awesome.  So here's a story of Patrick and his Chick friend.

Patrick and Chick...boozing it up on a Saturday evening

Patrick outdrinks Chick any day
Pee break
Patrick pays ultimate price for all the boozin
Chick tucks Patrick to bed
Goodnight buddy..sleep tight
   The end :)
Hope you enjoyed it.

Memories of a Lifetime

Today 5 years ago (and I can still say that since it is 11:51 pm) I have met a wonderful person.  He was a bit crazy but then again, so was I.  He seemed different and even though at the beginning I did not think anything of it, we ended up going on a date 2 days later....followed by many dates and then even a marriage.  My hubby and I have been together for almost 5 years and they were fabulous.  Last week my brother-in-law got married and I was fortunate enough to say a toast in their name.  In it I mentioned how you are only so lucky to be able to spend the rest of your life with your very best friend, and I can honestly say I am that lucky person.  In those five years my feeling got nothing but stronger and I cannot imagine my life without my sidekick, partner in crime, soulmate...etc.

One of our first hangouts as a couple <3
I am looking forward to the rest of my life and see where our adventures will lead us.  Je l'adore xo
My love xo

Loooves it

Oh My God....
Becky....Look at her butt..It is sooo big
I like big butts and I cannot lie, the other brothers can't deny..
BUT i digress
Without sounding like a broken record and telling you all how busy I have been, I will just say that I have been slacking with writing in my beloved bloggie.  Aight..sooooo Lots of things have been happening but I will just focus on something without writing about EVERYTHING...because that would bore you to tears.  I took another week off not too long ago and mmmmaaaaaan was I tired after that week passed.  I started the week off with a bachelorette.  We went downtown T.O. to a club named Babaluus.  It is a Latin club nestled in the Yorkville part of Toronto.  I have been there previously and this was my returning trip to the club.  I went again with the fond recollection of good food and even better mojitos.  Once again, I was not disappointed.  The food was scrumptious and the mojito too die for.  We also did a little salsa dancing and I was one of the girls privileged to dance with don juan himself.  I am not talking about some fine piece of Latino ass but a 60ish year old man that danced with some ladies at the club.  It was all in all a wicked experience yet again.
I also managed to finish not only writing my wedding thank you cards...but also watching Dawson's Creek!  Oh the memories, the tears, the looooove....I am not talking about recollection of my wedding as I was writing the thank you cards (although I always like to go back to that awesome, special day), but I'm talking about Dawson's Creek.  *SPOILER ALERT*I adore PACEY! and was so glad to see him and Joey at the end of that series.  I absolutely forgot that Dougie ends up revealing that he is, in fact, gay and he is gay with JACK!  Also that Jen dies :*(  I cried soooo hard at that part.  All in all I loved going back to that series.  Writing out the Thank You cards were less fun.  Didn't enjoy that part too much.
My hubby and I got a new bed and bedroom suite and it is quite enjoyable.  I'm looking forward to more new furniture, because buying it is always so much fun.
Well, it is almost 2 am so I believe I must go to sleep.  It doesn't pay off too much sleeping off your exhaustion because then you stay up too long the next night.

Good Peoples and Good times

Last Friday my hubby and I had a little get together/shindig at our place.  We had amazing time with our friends and family.  That included drinking and playing Pictionary Man and lots of shots!! :P Let's just say we all had a good time....well, I don't know if everybody but I sure did.  The morning after wasn't that much fun as I had to get up after only 4 hours of sleep and go to Brampton....and then paint....all day looong....sweating. Then I had a repeat of the day on Sunday as well.
The end of this story...neeeext.
I haven't been to Milestones in Whitby up until today.  My hubby's cousins, sister, aunts and mom went to Milestones today to send off Christina for her trip to Italy....Aaaah...jealous. :)  I ordered a portobello mushroom chicken and it was DEEEEalicious.  I pretty much inhaled it.  I also had a raspberry bellini and oh dear it was super yummy.  Basically I endulged like a fat kid and it was goooooood.  We had a really good time as per always.
In other news....i'm gassy and tired and I'm off to bed

Computer instructions needed

It took me FOREVER to get my pictures off my phone.  First off, I lost my cable AND I don't know where the box is with all the little doodats and whatsits that came with my phone.  SOOOO I had to figure out a way to get the pictures off of my phone and onto my computer without spending a small fortune on emailing them to myself.  I finally DID IT!  I can now update my little bloggie blog with all that I have been missing.  First off, let's start this with a pic of my next pedi and mani (oooooo don't I just sound so Real Housewifeish of Bville and such).
Cherry Toes! :D

I LOVE the nailpolish for my mani.  It is one of my favourites! As you can see I use all kinds of nailpolishes.  I don't discriminate.  The more the merrier.  My favourite has got to be Xtreme Wear and Rimmel nailpolish.  I write that because I know you care (ok, so maybe you don't but I'll write this pointless stuff because i can :))
My sister Joanna was here with her fiancee and we took a little day trip over to T.O. with our youngest sister Michelle.  It was really a lot of fun to go to the C.N. Tower again and do the whole shabang there.

Sisters <3

Yeah, we're cool like that

Can you tell we're sisters?

<3
As you can see, we had a lot of fun.  I'm not going to bore you with all the pics here.  I can do that to you from here http://www.flickr.com/photos/missdynia Later we had a good little lunch over at a local pub that had a whole rustic, old Toronto feel to it and it was simply maaahvelous. I miss my sister very much and hopefully I can convince her to leave Kelowna B.C. to move here to Ontario....ok so maybe leaving Kelowna B.C. for Oshawa isn't really the best but at least her family is here.
During my busy period, I also managed to go to a trailer park....yes, yes it is all that you can think of.  Here is my interpretation of such a lovely place.

Now now, don't be jelaous.  I know you want to be me.  Please, don't be alarmed, I am not drinking while prego.  It is just a little thing I do of expanding my stomach.  It hurts a little, makes my friends laugh and it makes my hubby cringe....all in all it's worth it.  Maybe the place was crowded and it made me appreciate my hubbs' parent's cottage that much more, but getting there was a nice little roadtrip.

Places like this it make me feel happy to be living in such a nice area.  I know this might not seem like much to some, but let me assure you, it is absolutely lovely.  Quiet, peaceful, rolly hill areas just five minutes away from my house.  We went to the trailer of my friend and her husband.

This is why we are friends

..and this is why we are friends.

...and this is why we are married :)
As you can see...we're a special kind of a bunch.  I am not your typical girly girl, and I do take lots of silly pictures but that is me and I wouldn't change that for the world.  I like me the way I am :D.
Speaking of girly girl stuff, I do enjoy that part of me as well.  I have a valid addiction to purses, accessories, shoes, clothes and make-up.  I recently cheered myself up by buying a Smashbox Lipgloss and some Avon make up.  I also managed to buy a snazzy little inflatable foot bath that folds and changes into a little carrying case.  LOVE IT!  It is indubiously the best addition to my little pedi bussiness.

Pretty pink...I like

wait for it....

Ta-DAH!!!
Lately I have been absolutely addicted to Dawson's Creek.  I LOVE that show as I mentioned in a previous blog.  It might be due to the fact that it was in my youth that I watched the show, so maybe i reminesce when watching it.  I believe that it is also because the show is awesome-o.

I <3 Pacey
That's how much I love it.
Last weekend I attended a BBQ at Tia Kelly's house (yes, she is my hubby's Tia but now I shall make her mine too :)).  The occasion was her daughter's temporary homecoming from Thailand.  It was super fun!  The food, as always, was super delicious and I enjoyed spending quality time with the girls and the family.  Looking forward to more occasions where the family gets together :).
I believe I pretty much gave you the jist of everything that has been happening, and this has been one looooong blog.  I shall go to bed now because the headache I've been harboring all this time, is not letting up and I'm all out of Advil :(

Antsy in the pantsy

For the first time in a long time I am getting very restless when it comes to my job.  I feel like I am waiting on that "Dare to be great!" moment.  I am bursting out of my own skin because I want to do so many things.  I love the fact that I have great peeps looking out for me and allowing me to spread my wings a little bit.  What I mean by all this mumbo jumbo is that if they come upon an opportunity that would be perfect for me, they let me know about it.  My friend Tiffany of Librarianista was kind enough to let me know of a wicked opporunity to paint a mural at the local hospital's pediatrics centre.  I go into this fully aware that they just might NOT pick me to do this but it's great to take a chance and put yourself out there.  The first thing I did was ask my fellow artiste Victoria of The Tor Diaries if she would be so kind to lend her artistic abilities to help me out on this project.  I was extremely pleased when she said she loved the idea.  Today I had Victoria and Kyleman over at my casa to come up with a concept and a plan of action for this little doodle.  While Kyleman played black ops with the hubbs, Tory and I came up with an awesome idears together.  It was actually quite scary and at the same time a no brainer how the two of us were constantly thinking the same thing and totes on the same page.  I adore Tory and Kyleman and it was super fun to have them over.  Hopefully we can get together next time when I don't have to work the next morning and we can have a few brewskis together.  Once we come up with the concept drawing and all I will share our wonderful idears.  Up until then mum's the word.  Hope this weekend will be a stellar weekend to all.

My body a.k.a big wreck

Sometimes I am not too pleased with what my body does to me.  I have seasonal allergies.  Except they don't just happen in the summer..oh no.  You see, they happen all year round.  Now I must admit, they have gotten better ever since my visit to the specialist but when they hit me...wow.  I mean the inability to breathe and the snotty nose and the sinus headache it is all just wonderful...and by wonderful I mean not really.  Oh and I am also allergic to dogs and cats.  My hubbs and I had a English Setter for 2 whole days and my eye was swollen and red with little water pockets in it.  I know what you're thinking...mmm attractive.
The other way that my body is so wonderful to me is my sensitive stomach.  I get amazing stomach aches from eating the wrong food, to drinking the wrong liquids, to stress.  Stress....kills my stomach.  I wonder what will happen if I have a kid.  I'm pretty sure I will be a wreck.
AAAAaaah and then...there's the headaches.  The debilitating headaches that I get and at times with something as simple as change in weather it's ridiculous.  Naturally I need to take lots of Advil when that happens, which in turn gives me one of my stomach aches...wonderful isn't it? :)
HOWEVER even though I have all these things happening to me I must admit I count my blessings by being born with all my appendages, generally healthy and all around a-okay.  These are my thoughts for today.

Sweet sweet pillow

Seriously this is ridiculous.  I am up and for no other good reason other than me doing my pedi and watching Dawson's Creek.  The sad thing is that I'm watching Dawson's Creek on DVD so it's not like I can't watch it tomorrow.  Oh...and yes.  I LOVE Dawson's Creek.  This show is my youth here in Canada.  The constant banter between Joey/Dawson/Pacey/Jen, their fantastically ridiculous mature and vast vocabulary, the love triangles....AAAaaah.  I am looking forward to the last episode where the right people end up together (ahem Pacey and Joey)

Teehee <3
I had my eyebrows waxed today and I feel GREAT about it.  My dear Natasha ( my hubb's cousin) is responsible for making my crazy eyebrows somehow manageable.  I am excited for the make up session I have booked with her on Thursday.
Keeping with my previous ever so exciting post I will show you my toesies!  After this I have to go to bed because I will most likely bitch and moan tomorrow about how little sleep I got.
I bought new nail polish called Mint Sorbet by Xtreme Wear by Sally Hansen.  I tried the leopard spot look not really sure if I love the way I did it but here it is.
Purrr...grrr

umm...scuse me?

I apologize if my grammar is off but I've been going on little to no sleep lately and I think I would sound like a broken record if I said, yet again, how busy I find myself.  I feel like I am constantly cleaning, organizing, being Suzy Homemaker and all around awesome me.  I wouldn't be able to recall particulars too much but I'll give you a not so brief accout of what happened in the past little while.  I gave myself a new pedi and I have my co-worker Candice to thank for the idea.

Meow...
I used Viva Pink from Avon (did I mention I love Avon? :)) and Black out from Sally Hanson Xtreme Wear.  I am addicted to doing my nails.  I think I'm going to get a few more tomorrow!  This makes me a little too excited.
My BFF Lucia came down and her and I along with my Hubbs and couple friends went to Brooklin Fair.  Aaaah, the rides, the food....the carnies...the hillbillies.  There was meat sold by the foot, pickles on the stick and ever delicious FUNNEL CAKES!!!!! Who doesn't like Funnel cakes?  People with no tasted buds?  I went on a total of one ride and that was more than enough for me.  I refused to go on any rides that I knew for certainty would make me throw up just a little in my mouth while on them.  Later we waited on Leila to suit up and become super cop lady to man the beer tent.  After standing in the line up for a total of 15 minutes we decided we were too old for these shenenigans and decided to go home.  All in all it was good times.

Monkey see..Monkey do
Following that there was the Bowmanville Ribfest.  YUM!  I apologize to the PETA/Vegetarian/Vegan lovers...I really do, but they were yummy.  The ribs, pulled pork, coleslaw AND blooming onion all were superb.  I almost got tempted to get a fried mars bar but I chose to opt out of the heart attack for that day.  I did however get a funnel cake and it was delicious!  I didn't go on any rides or play any games but that was a-okay by me.  I enjoyed myself and now I'm looking forward to doing it all over again at the Oshawa Ribfest.
I am currently reading the second book of HP saga.  This challenge is coming along very slowly but hopefully I can pull a few all nighters and get it all done by the time the movie comes out.  Recently I haven't even had an iota of time to read and the moment i get to read a book I fall asleep.  It's been crazy busy lately.  I also want to finish reading "Bossypants" which is absolutely hillarious.  Tina Fay is THE MAN.  I highly recommend reading it.  I pretty much laugh with every single turn of the page.

I also have done some pedicures for people and hopefully will do some more in the future.  I have an appointment with a few girls and hopefully I can document it so I can post all the pretty toes on here.  Another great thing is that it's fiesta week!!! :)  The parade was yesterday and it started a whole week of super-fantastic-awesome food.  Hopefully I can keep up with the writing a bit more. :)

Busy Bee Busy

Do you feel like you wish you could stop the time sometimes?  I don't mean because you want a vacation to last forever or you want a particular good moment never to pass.  I just wish I could sleep whenever I want just by stopping time.  I know, lame isn't it?  Genie pops out, says "POOF!  Your wish for freezing time is granted", and what do I do with it?....take time to sleep.  Dream big Ewa...dream big.  ANYWHO...this weekend just like any other day, was pretty busy for me.  Lots of running around, cleaning, spending time with friends.  LuLu came down from Calgary and I got to spend some time with her on Saturday (LuLu is my bestest best friend for LIFE and I've known her since highschool).  We enjoyed pickles on sticks, crazy cotton candy guy, and meat by the foot at the Brooklin Fair.  Ah the sweet sweet visions of hillbillies...never gets old.
On Sunday we spend some Q time with my hubby's bro and his fiance.  We ate delicious sushi and I cradled my food baby for the rest of the day.   I also enjoyed a nice Sunday walk with my little sis and watched a God awful movie with my sister in law (note: Greenberg sucks major arse.  It should come with a warning label which says '2 hrs of your life that you'll never get back")  To counteract the effect the movie Greenberg had on my life, my hubby and I went to see "X Men: First Class" on Monday.  It was pretty much a fun-fricken-awesome movie.  I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats....seriously though it is a wicked cool movie.

I talked recently to a friend about reading all the Harry Potter books and how we will have a Harry Potter movie marathon one of these days. (Yes....I am a HP fan...what of it?)  I didn't think it would be possible to catch up on all the reading I have to do before seeing the last movie but one of the student pages from my work assured me that it can be done.  According to her, she read all 7!! books in just one week. ........Challenge accepted :D  Well, I will give myself to July 15th to read all those books, which is the date the last movie comes out.
AIGHT peeps (or peep depending on how many of you are reading this shtuff)  I am outtie cause the screen is turning funny colours right before my eyes, the wash is done and I need a shower cause I stank.

Wedding/beach bod...here I come

Is it bad that I am working out more as a bridesmaid than when I was a bride? Honest truth is that I was born lucky enough to have a good metabolism and I never really had a problem with my weight.  Trust me when I say that I DO NOT take it for granted.  I have this love affair with food and I'm sure you would see me on one of these TLC specials "Ate herself into a coma" if it wasn't for the fact that my mother passed down her ever so wonderful genetics.  When I watched "Eat Pray Love" my favourite part was when she was in Italy eating all that wonderful food and getting too big for her jeans.  I literally salivate when I see cooking shows or any movies with delicious food in it.
I do work out though to feel good.  I also don't work out in a gym but do my working out outside or in the house to DVD's.  I feel more comfortable that way and then I can go straight into my bathroom and have a shower skipping out on seeing naked peoples everywhere and getting foot fungus from public showers.  Today I had a fab workout to the DVD "Women's Health:  The Wedding Workout".

It was easy enough for me to follow and I had a sweaty ass to prove it.  I am going to enjoy a nice shower now and go for a loverly sunday walk.

Murphy's Law...a.k.a My Life

So you know how you hear that funny story of a girl getting her little visitor the day she decides to wear white pants...and you think "Oh my GOSH! That's effin hillarious!".  Then it happens to you and you think "Really?".  That's what happened to me yesterday.  Thank GOD I have emergency tools at work just for such events.  I managed to avert a disaster just in time.  I got to go home early due to the fact that I almost passed out and puked.  Haha...that was fun.  I am also pretty sure that I was high as a kite driving home due to the copious amount of advil that I took.  I came home and passed out on the couch after taking some more drugs.  Moral of the story:   When you are close to that "date", do not wear white...anything :)

Someone's watching

Yeeahh...so I don't mean like a stalker or anything.  What I actually mean is that I drove to my piano teacher's house only to have my tire basically fall off my car.  I started my day off with having another one of my famous blabbering meltdowns and waiting for my hubby to bail me out yet again.  Does anyone remember what happened to my last car?  Oh yeah....It went something like this:
Ewa driving down to work on hwy 2....(Yes...I am referring to myself in third person)
Ewa notices the car is making funny noises...
Ewa calls hubby tells him about car making funny noises...
Hubby asks questions and tells Ewa to try to make it to work...
Ewa calls hubby again telling him the car is making more funny scarry noises...
Hubby asks few more questions and tells Ewa to call him as soon as she makes it to work...
Ewa calls hubby to tell him the car is smoking on the side of a (very busy!) road...
Hubby asks where Ewa is and tells her to start the car and try to get it to the parking lot a few feet away...
Hubby comes, looks under the hood, Ewa starts the car.....kills the car
Hole in engine size of Ewa's fist...
end of car...
Such are my stories with my vehicles.  Luckily I was able to get a ride to work with piano teacher, since I work with her and hubby took car to mechanics.
Moral of the story...
Ewa drives cars that die but she always has someone looking over her :)
The end

Staycation over :(

So nothing major happened in the last few days.  Yesterday I felt a little bit blah which propelled me to have a bath and go to sleep for almost 3 hours in the middle of the afternoon.  After my nap I woke up and just went back to sleep again for the whole night.  Something was off with me and I guess my body was just telling me "It's ok, just sleep and I'll have yo back".  I still need to clean my office, paint, send thank you cards and clean our bedroom but I had a busy day today so that makes up for me not doing these things a bit.  Even if I didn't accomplish everything, it got me on a very good track.  I needed these days off and I'm hoping that in the future I'll be able to get more like it.  On Friday Daniel and I, together with some friends, went out for sushi.  I absolutely LOVE sushi and am ever so glad that my sister got me hooked on it.  I love my little food baby that I get after sitting and stuffing my face with all the different food the sushi place offers.  Today the girls and I had a little get together and we had psychic readings done.  I did not get one done simply because what will be, will be.  I don't want to think about anything good or bad and pre-occupy my mind with that.  I prefer to wait and see what happens.  It was fun, though, to be hanging out with the girlies.  I'm still a bit ugh but that can be due to me going back to work tomorrow.
I'm going to see what damage I can do in my bedroom before going to bed....or I'll just wake up tomorrow morning to do that and go to bed and read my books.
I'm le tired

Staycation: Day 4 and loving life

So, I didn't do as much as I wanted today but it was still a good day off (then again very few days off of work are bad days).  I did some cleaning, some running around, visiting momsie briefly, my in-laws, and Kevin our friend :)  Today, overall, was a very chillaxed kind of a day.  Not too much stress etc.  I guess that counts for a successful staycation as well .  Right now I'm enjoying sitting on the couch with hubby while he plays his games and I do some blogging etc. I'll clean the rest of the home tomorrow.  I'm really not looking forward to going to work already and I still have 3 more days off. What can you do I guess.  I'll see if I have some more eventful things to blog about tomorrow.

Staycation: Day 3 and Val is awesome.

There is no other word to describe this morning other than, cluster fuck...It was basically the...if it CAN go wrong, it will.  I had a mini breakdown but by the mid afternoon it was all coming together again.  I enjoyed being around my house and doing some yardwork as well as starting on my housework.  After my hubby came home I basically started doing my running around and went to do some shopping.  After that I went to my mamus's house and waited for Gabby to show up to try on her dress that my mom is doing some alterations to.  After Gabby left I headed on home to wait for Val to come over.  :)  I love hanging out with Val.  It is effortless and she is simply delightful to be around.  We had some good laughs.  We enjoyed some pizza from the local pizzeria and watched some shows.  We were both super stoked that So You Think You Can Dance is starting again TOMORROW!!! :D  That is one of the few reality shows that I enjoy and watch from episode 1 to the finale.  Hubby actually went to bed early which was a shock to me but I understand because he had 2 busy, stressful, physically exhausting days.  Val and I watched Conan for a while and now I'm blogging about my day.  I think I'm ready to hit the hay as well.  Another busy day tomorrow!!! I still have to paint rooms, tidy my office and write shitloads of thank you cards.
Here's to staycations haha.

Staycation: Day 2 and thank Jeebus for my licence

So my Tuesday started way early due to the fact that I had to go for my piano lesson.  How are my lessons going you ask?  (I'm going to say it anyways, even though no one asked :))  Well, I get there and then I play my scales...and I crumble because I don't practice enough so I self depricate myself for the period of my lesson and my poor piano teacher has to listen to all of that.  I'm sure her ears are bleeding a little each time I get there.  The pieces that I'm playing for my exam (which is on June 16 O.o eeek!) go as well as I prepare them.  If I managed a lot of practice time, they go splendidly...if not...well we go back to the whole self depricating part as well as the mumbling idiot comes out and we're having a party then.

My Pianers...<3

After my lessons I went to the bank to deposit some money into my account.  I was really paying attention too when I deposited 40 bucks instead of the 60 that I actually put into the envelope.  That was super fun (and by super fun I mean WTF??)  After some more FAIL moments I decided to head on home and go on to Kristin's to finish the mural I started there.
After an hour of trying to get the hell out of the house I finally managed to get to Kristin's and have some realxing painting time.  I am quite pleased with how it's turning out and I believe Kristin likes it, which in the end is what matters.  I can't wait to see the final finished product.

So close I can taste it...
Once I was done at Kristin's I packed up, went back home to change, and went over to my mamus's house.  I had some din din there and spend some Q time with my motha.  Showed her the wonders of Youtube, which she thought was awesome, and then at 6:30 I was on the road once again to go back to my piano teacher's house.  We had a get together with some ladies who are also her students and we played for eachother.  I kept on doing the whole "Woe is me" lamentation and was sick and tired of listening to myself.  I don't know what everyone else did while I was doing that.  The night in the end was a personal triumph though because I kind of got better at playing in front of a listening public.

After the evening, I drove back to my mom's house, got some beautifully smelling Lily of the Valley and drove back home.  I ate, I played piano some more, and now I am blogging :)
Day three was successful and sponsored by the letters D and L...without my driving licence I would kinda be screwed.

Staycation: Day 1 and My Love of Youtube

What a wonderful way to start my staycation!  After finishing watching movies with the hubby last night, I remembered that I stumbled upon Polish cartoons on Youtube.  I decided to see if maybe it would have some of the Polish movies I remember watching as a child.  What do you know, it DID!  I don't think I can describe the child-like wonderment and excitement I felt when I saw "Czarne Stopy" (Black Feet) all over again.  Last time I remember seeing that movie was back in Grade 1 or so at the movie theatre.  The movie is based on a book.  Just to give you an idea of what the movie is about I'll give a very brief synopsis.  It shows many adventures of a boy scout pack, named Black Feet, while attending a bivouac with their boy scout troop.  It's a cute kids movie.  I simply sat there glued to my little netbook screen with this stupid grin on my face.  I finished watching it this morning and then decided to keep on going down the memory lane.  I simply adore Youtube for giving me this little gift.

My day 1 of staycation started off great.  I had my green tea in my herbal tea mug while watching my Polish movies (Yes, I have a specific mug for that, given to me by my LuLu).  During all this time my hubby was playing Black Ops on PS3 on the couch beside me.
Mr. Frog chilling in my cup.

After my Polish movie break, my hubby and I watched a movie together.  I know...we watch A LOT of movies.  That is actually a very special time to us.  We don't go clubbing, pubbing etc.  We like to sit at our home and relax together.  This might seem boring to some but it's perfect to us.  Before the movie I also made us crepes.  Oh yeah, you heard me right...I make crepes and they are pretty good if I say so myself.  I am awesome like that.  Once the movie was over I decided to go and have a nice, long, relaxing bath.  One of MY favourite ways to de-stress.  I put my little bath pillow in, turn the ipod dock station to some tunes of my "mood' choice, bring my book along and settle in to a nice chill zone.

My chill station

This time around I couldn't decide between the two books that I'm reading so I decided to bring them both.  I always have my phone on me as well.  If I don't feel like reading, I tweet, FB or play games on my phone.

bubbles!! Oo

These would be my vanilla scented candles that I light during my bath and one of my favourites bubbles for my bubble baths.  I am quite aware that it says Shower Gel on the bottle but that's because I bought a refil at the store and by mistake I put it into the shower gel bottle.
After all the bathing, I decided to do my toesies again for the week of my staycation.  I decided for a sparkly red colour called "Red Carpet" by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. I think I put too much pressure on myself because I had to re-do my big toe 3 times before I just say "Screw it!" and just left it as is.

Then my hubby made us delicious dinner, which I practically inhaled and now my stomach hurts like a motha.  TUMS or Pepto...here I come.  I have a very busy Day 2 of Staycation therefore I shall go to bed soon.
